Patriot Woodcrafters cutting boards are handcrafted from strong, long-lasting woods to support and enhance your culinary adventures. We also make amazing butcher block tables, wooden games and accessories.

Available at regional art shows and craft festivals, our creations come in a wide range of designs. Custom designs are also available – a great idea if you’re searching for a unique hospitality or wedding gift.

Our handcrafted wooden creations are truly functional artwork, serving beautifully as you prepare and present food or as a statement piece on your countertop. They’re gorgeous because we use beautiful North American woods to build the projects – Sugar Maple, Black Walnut, Cherry, American Sycamore – and exotic woods like Purple Heart used to add color. They’re great for cooks because these woods won’t impart a flavor to your food – and the cutting boards and butcher block tables are sheer joy to cut upon.

The Patriot Woodcrafters Story

If Suzanne Rueck and Matt Mitchell look vaguely familiar, it may be because you’ve seen them on the slopes near you! Former professional snowboarders, Suzanne and Matt participated at the sports’ highest levels before pursuing second careers in design and carpentry.  The first cutting boards came together as a way to put good use to scrap lumber. It didn’t take long for family, friends and acquaintances to notice they were really special and start flooding the couple with requests for special projects, such as butcher block tables and ornamental accessories.
One friend asked for a cutting board shaped like an American flag, and that’s how Patriot Woodcrafters was born. After Superstorm Sandy moved through Long Island, Suzanne and Matt had the opportunity to open a workshop, and today, Patriot Woodcrafters is working hard to satisfy the needs of every serious cook in America with a gorgeous, handcrafted cutting board.
